MBA - MSc - Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate

Programme Structure

Your progression through the awards - note there are two routes to this programme:
MBA and Postgraduate Certificate (MBA route) - listed below
AND MSc and Postgraduate Diploma (MSc route)

MBA and Postgraduate Certificate (MBA route)

Postgraduate Certificate: you must complete 5 core courses; if you wish to progress onto the MBA, you must complete a further 5 core courses, four electives, 2 one-week plenary sessions plus a compulsory research course and dissertation.

MBA: you must complete 10 core courses, 4 electives, 2 one-week plenary sessions plus a compulsory research course and dissertation.

MBA

Nine core courses:

Philosophy of management

International accounting and finance

International human resource management

Leadership and behaviour in organisations

International operations management

Information systems

International marketing

International strategy

International business economics

PLUS four electives chosen from the following:

China and the international economy

Advertising and promotional communication

Cooperative strategy

International business analysis

Corporate social responsibility

Management of Japanese multinationals

Multinational enterprise and the global economy

Investment management

Corporate finance

Knowledge management

International business law

Global financial markets

International entrepreneurship

International sustainability management

PLUS Research course and dissertation

PLUS two one-week, face-to-face plenary sessions

Postgraduate Certificate (MBA route)

Five core courses:

International business economics

International accounting and finance

International human resource management and organisational behaviour

Information systems and operations management

International marketing and strategy

EITHER
· exit here after 5 core courses and receive the Postgraduate Certificate
OR
· if you have 3+ years relevant work experience, progress onto the MBA. If you do proceed onto the MBA you will need to complete the following:

Five further core courses:

Advanced human resource management and organisational behaviour  

Advanced information systems and operations management

Advanced international marketing and strategy

Philosophy of management

PLUS four electives chosen from the following:

China and the international economy

Advertising and promotional communication

MSc: you must complete 7 core courses, four electives, 2 one-week plenary sessions plus a compulsory research course and dissertation.

Not all elective courses will necessarily be offered each year.
You may take up to three courses as a Short course student (with the exception of the research course, dissertation and the plenary sessions).
